I've just created 14 badges for players of Trader. NB if you're already signed up to play Trader, then you'll need to 'reset' your account (you can do this in the game settings). This is because there was a fairly major rule change at the end of September, and I want to make the acquisition of badges fair for all new players. fetcheveryone.com/trader.php |

Wow! 14 badges! I've been playing Trader since the start, but it's been a bit of a niche thing. I suspect this will liven it up quite a lot! Fetch, when I read about some of the more esoteric or, to me anyway, outlandish badge requests, I always think about how difficult it must be for you to ensure that everyone has a reasonable chance of earning a range of badges. I think of the site as a running site at heart, so I applaud the number of running-related badges - lifetime distance, longest race distance etc etc, but as badges become more popular, it must be really hard for you to keep an overall perspective on the range and balance of available badges. Do you have an underlying philosophy (!) or approach to controlling and balancing the badge population or do you go wild on whatever area you wish to develop at any given time? I probably haven't expressed that very well, but it would be interesting to know your take on badges. |
