Under FAQs, geordiegirl. Your own start time depends on how long you expect to take. The cut off at the finish is 6pm.

Might still be a bit tight for 9am both to get there and be finished by 6 (we should be boating that weekend) Train 6.10 gets in 7.20 then have to get to the start. |

They also set the start times it said based on expected time to complete so i'd not expect me to be a 9 starter but i guess we could haggle with them. Not even looked at how to get to the start but i'd be staying in the Kings Cross area and immediate thought was it's DLR out to my former uni then head to Thames and across the foot tunnel |

The new Elizabeth Line makes the start a bit more accessible than in the past. It is very close to the Woolwich station. Looks like Kings Cross to Woolwich is about 35 mins. Based on my comms with the organisers last year I suspect you could request a later start wave. There’s also a 25km option which starts at Upper Norwood |

I saw that too pothunter I may see how I feel nearer the time. Thanks for sharing though. Not an ultra but I’ve signed up for Kielder Darkskies triple 10m Friday, 26.5 Saturday and 14m Sunday now to do some training to help it feel a bit easier. |

Fragile Do Not Bend
I’m still trying to work out when and what is going to be my first ultra (after lockdowns and then a health issue scuppered my previous plans). Has anyone done the Goring Gap 50k? fetcheveryone.com/races/goring-gap-run-7521853 Looks like a good beginner ultra, but is 3 weeks after a marathon (London) going to be too soon? |

I would have thought a decent marathon training block would be good prep for a 50k, as long as 3 weeks is enough time for you to recover. It's only an extra 7.8k. What do you want from London? Train towards the 50k and treat London as a final long-run?
