I guess it is hard to survive the weight of a bus on a limb so I hope her being conscious is a sign she was knocked but not squashed, I.e the mast worst outcome. Horrific for all involved either way, and unpleasant for you to have to see the aftermath. |

( Cambridge news said "A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed an adult man "was transported by land to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment” following the accident on Station Road, St Ives.") there's been no further update.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I thought I’d ask here as my next big race is Beachy Head marathon and I thought it best to treat it like an ultra, training-wise Can anyone give me any insight into the value of back-to-back long runs, and are two shorter runs back-to-back as useful as one longer run? Reason I ask, is there are two events on the same weekend I fancy doing, around the time I was planning a run of about 21/22 miles, one is a half and the other is a choose your own distance challenge. So I’m wondering about doing a half each day |

From my limited experience I find back to backs ideal I mix it up sometimes long first day shorter second and vice versa it’s learning to run on tired legs. I also have done double day runs although I’ve paused watch rather than showing as 2. I was also told long run followed by a decent walk is also useful so I’ve done quite a bit of that. Good luck. |

Back to back half sounds good. Don’t lose sight of fact it’s supposed to be fun I liked long run followed by walk next day, but am being cautious following shin splint issues last autumn. Maybe try run in morning then go out later for a walk. Parkrun and a 10 - 15 mile walk is a great way to spend a Saturday |

LDWA is worth supporting even if you don’t do any events
