I just make it at home beforehand and switch over bottles at appropriate race points. That obviously comes with its own downsides. |

Question for those that use Tailwind or Mountain Fuel and buy the bulk packs - how do you transport it on events? I’ve used small sealable plastic bags in the past but have run out and (a) not sure where to get more from and (b) wondered if anyone had a solution that doesn’t involve so much plastic. I often use multiple pre-prepped soft flasks. So all I have to do is add water. Still plastic but reusable. Alternatively what about old film cannisters of you've got any of those lying around? |

I’ve got the smaller Tailwind sticks, I think that’s what they’re called, which I’ll be using in my next race. One stick should make two bottles.

I use and reuse the little waste bags from the LFT boxes, 7 per box. It’s worked well for me on the last couple of ultras. Well done rhb. |

You do need to be careful carrying round small plastic bags of powder that give you a lift 😉

😂 I did wonder carrying them through Heathrow security but they were more interested in taking my deodorant spray off me.

There’s a thread on this fetcheveryone.com/forum/best-method-to-carry-pre-measured-tailwind-for-ultras-61885/3 Lot of the same suggestions and Hanneke mentioned having some little Torq waterproof screw cap cylinders she’s been using for a decade, £1.50 each and perhaps worth a look if you have no film canisters left! torqfitness.co.uk |

I’ve got the smaller Tailwind sticks, I think that’s what they’re called, which I’ll be using in my next race. One stick should make two bottles. One stick should make one bottle at recommended dilution. Their marketing team calls a 500ml bottle/1 stickpack two servings as its equivalent to 2 gels 🤦🏻 Thanks for the ideas folks. Macca - I've been using those too, along with some that had screws in from flapack furniture, but they've all split from repeated use. And my last film canisters are full of storm matches in my backpacking kit! |

I find Dave's dilution of both Tailwind and MF is kinder on the stomach. With both I double the recommended dilution, at least. If it's hot and I'm drinking lots I make it even more dilute.
