You'd think they'd just ask all the questions in one go but it doesn't work like that I found! My buyer's solicitor wanted indemnity for an internal wall we had taken down, as there were no building regs. It was in 2003. And for the conservatory, 20y Old by previous owners, as it contravenes the restrictive covenant. But with the builder gone bust there's nobody to ask permission of any way.

Lucky you, our buyers withdrew just before exchange, back on the market. No reason given.

Great news DT, well done.
Two weeks later and I’m gradually reducing the number of boxes...determined not to have some still unpacked for months to come!
Paul that’s very frustrating, so sorry for you. I felt very nervous and anxious in the last week or two before exchange, it’s the most ridiculous system where everybody has committed and paid various monies out, yet one person can pull the plug at any time.

Couldn’t agree more, we are trying to buy in Scotland with their system......even more galling.

Hmm, I assume it’s tricky to mix the English and the Scottish systems! What happens with your Scottish property now your English sale has collapsed? (Assuming I’ve guessed the right configuration)

Oh Paul. My friends said the same as Tup said. They were furious for me that there's no protection. Fuckers just want more money or something and don't care that they've done you out of a home.
Well done Tup. I can't believe that Meglet and you had questions and queries that got sorted in the time it took the little shit to dick me around and then pull out. I had no such issues to solve. I still hate that b*tch.
I'm having a sideways move at work after a terrible year in my current role, sometimes covering 3 roles including one 2 levels above me! It means I can't buy, but hopefully I will retain my sanity and have a more rewarding and structured role. I also hope management won't be such bastards where I'm going to - I've temped in that dept before.
On successful completion of probation, I'll hopefully be able to reapply for a mortgage.
