I went running and all was reasonably well until 5 miles in when my wretched right knee decided enough was enough. I ran-walked the remaining 5 miles. This is annoying.

Nice one Ankh, I have done 45 mins and am pleased with that. Garmin stats improving, so can see feel like I’m getting fitter again.

I have done nothing today but wince. After my swim yesterday my back has seized up and I'm in pain with certain movements, like anything involving my right leg. This is, as you can imagine, a little restrictive but there is a reason my daughter did a Sports Rehab degree and I am owed some treatment from her in lieu of all the financial support she had getting through Uni.

Please can you help me, fellow hotel residents.....
Last week, outside, I did 6.2 miles in 1h 10.
This week, on the treadmill, I only did 5.3 miles in 1h 20 for a similar effort level. How can that be? I don't think it's a calibration problem as I had the same issue when I was away and used the treadmill. WTF is going on? I'm running, but only covering the same amount of ground as fast walking outside.

Where are you taking your distance from - the treadmill or your Garmin? I think it probably is some sort of calibration disconnect between your watch and the treadmill but I've no idea what.

Neither makes sense. Garmin is pure nonsense, treadmill is the figures I quote above.

All sorts of things can influence perceived effort, Linds - lots of people find the treadmill harder than 'real' running, I think, not to mention that running outdoors on the same route with broadly similar conditions can feel completely different one day to the next...
How does the heart rate data compare?

Treadmill and watch didn't agree.
But looking at watch 20bpm slower today so maybe you are right. Still don't understand how I was running barely faster than my walking pace though.
