The kind with coaster brakes are absolutely the work of the Devil, Glen, but with caliper brakes it's quite a civilised and genteel way to get around, I think.
Saves all that hunching over a crumpling your clothes nastiness.

I like my omafiets for going to church, or a picnic in the woods, for example. And I did ride it to the office a few times when I worked in eindhoven because my road bike has no panniers and I wouldn't have felt safe leaving it in the bike park.

I used to have a Raleigh(?) Grifter with super-wide after-market cowhorn bars. It was Ace! :)

I had a Carlton 5 speed racer, and as soon as I could afford it off came the drops and a pair of cowhorns were fitted.

It must have looked fucking ridiculous...
