Hi Kath,
I did the Windsor tri a few years ago. There are town centre car parks in Windsor you can use - not far from the start.
The first part of the swim is up river and is so shallow that in places you can walk (and some people did). After the turn you've got the current with you to take you back to the finish. Apparently they flush through the river the day before. Not sure how, but something to with the flood relief scheme, shutting it off and then letting it go. I was speaking to a barge owner the day before I did it and he said it was like a tidal wave!
Lots of spectators on the run route shouting encouragement.

Morning all, just popping in for no particular reason. I swam yesterday and smacked my knuckle off the steps and now it's gone a bit purple. I'll probably be running tomorrow and then it's show week.
Welcome to the hotel Kath

Morning.
Welcome Kath. Nerves are part of the game. I got nervous before a Sprint Tri 3 weeks ago and I've done 13 Iron Distance races...I bet you come back here having loved it the Monday after....
Felt off yesterday so had a rest day, wise decision and much improved Watter session this morning. Run at lunch, ride out to TK the club TT this evening.
Enjoy the cricket kids.

Welcome new inmates, I mean, um, guests
I lifted slightly heavy things yesterday then put them down again, and also spent some time cleaning and tidying my heavy thing picking up and putting down space. Today I shall do similar, but with less cleaning and tidying.
I might even try having a ride of the omafiets later.

I *really* don't get swept-back handlebars. Sorry to the Pashley/omafiets/cruiser crowd, but no. Just no.

How would you have a sit up and beg bike without them?

I've entered a Crit.
Entry fee comes with cold grey weather, a nagging wind and certain death.

I do sometimes tease my OH about her commuting on her 150kg Liv Flourish thingy when she has a lovely road bike (also Liv) with lots of carbon sitting in the garage.
When we were in the Netherlands recently, she was saying how much she enjoyed riding the sit up and beg horrors we hired a pair off. I thought it was a death trap - I'd have felt safer taking a bobsleigh down Mont Blanc.

And now I'm googling Liv bikes again and drooling!
