Ahhh! Bike dilemma. I had ordered a new bike from Liv - Langma Advanced Pro Disc (despite what everyone said about disc brakes!) but got a call this morning to say the frame had been damaged in transit and they don't anticipate another one in my size for the foreseeable future. So they have offered me the Langma Advanced Pro 0 for the same money as the Pro Disc (should be £850 more) - that will give me a higher spec fork, calliper brakes and ultegra Di2 - rather than disc brakes and ultegra. I am nervous about the Di2, I am still a novice rider and that just seems a bit more of an upgrade than I was looking for. Am I being an idiot? Should I be biting their hand off to get that bike for that money? Answers on a postcard.... |

From what I can tell the real risk with the Di2 is that it'll spoil you for other bikes in the future, but I may be totally off the mark.

I'm currently torn between (don't laugh because I'll set the PoD on you) ridgeback.co.uk and dawescycles.com The Ridgeback is clearly the 'better' bike but it's proving very hard to get hold of one to try, and I have a suspicion it will be just too hardcore to be 'fun' to ride as an everyday commuter. |

I don't actually enjoy riding it. People seem surprised by this. I love it as a piece of engineering, obviously, but I don't find it fun to ride.
