SPR - yeah reading back I know he didn't mean it like that - Frank Schleck is my favourite rider and was looking forward to watching him for 3 weeks!

3 fractures in his collarbone according to the Saxo Bank website, hope he's gonna be OK!

Really sad about Frank; really compromises Saxo Bank's push so early in the tour.

Is anyone else feeling *slightly* disappointed in the tour so far? It's been nice to see some of the faces at the front, but all these crashes have spoiled it for me just a little (including the slow roll at the finish on Day 2). Of course it'll improve as the gradients do and, as has been said, it's winding up nicely with the "submarines" making their silent progress. I just feel a little bit hard done by at this stage!

I went for Tyler as my sprinter, now with a suspected broken wrist..... we'll see a few flat stages coming up. My hope for the cobbles didn't work Ballan, he's done well at P-R in previous years, still have Cancellara in the team though.

My team is also designed for the mountains too!!

It's very similar to the way the Giro went early stages (also in the low countries), which turned out to be an excellent race week 2 onwards.

It's a 3 week race, give it a bit of time.

Absolutely hammerite, I'm not losing any interest at all and it is, after all, a 2,263 mile race and not a sprint :)

Or did he ? It's being played as that by their press, but during the day there were copious references to Vino having annoyed Contador, bit like last seasons Armstrong vs Contador. I have a feeling that "this team aint big enough for the both of us" is going to come into play.

re: Sanchez - was that to me? ;-) I noted that a lot of the big climbs seem to be in the Pyrenees this time around and I fancied a good climber on "home" territory and as the tour is clockwise, they're gonna be the decisive stages methinks. He's another one who has focused his season on the tour, he was impressive last season coming 2nd in the Vuelta.

Chris(ull) - yeah that was to you, can see him doing well but forgot about him at squad selection time.

Who said Vino annoyed Contador?

I still need to catch proper highlights from yesterday, only seen the 3 min video on ITV.com ATM.

SPR, for whatever reason, itv.com didn't have the fuller package up last night so I too was forced to make do with the 3 minute package.
