Cippo was Saeco, and Polti before then. Not sure if they were the same team.
ONCE went through a few names before becoming Astana, who promptly withdrew sponsorship from that team in 2006. Some riders, and the DS left and set up a new team, sponsored by Astana. That's confusing...

Carrera was Pantani and Ciappucci. Although Carrera was a jeans manufacturer, they also rode bikes made by Carrera. I'm not convinced that those are the same bikes available in Halfords.

Wurth were a a sponsor of Liberty Seguros. Who I think became Phonak, and are now BMC.... I think!
Polti and Saeco were two different teams.

Good stage though, nice to see the GC getting shaken up early on rather than waiting for the one or two definitive mountain stages.
