I'm not convinced by the Vino riding for Contador yesterday. Contador looked mighty pissed off when he crossed the line. The problem was a tight rear wheel making it harder to push round, which surely would have been easierto manage sitting in the slipstream of a team mate rather than him pissing off 3k from the end? Wouldn't be Astana without some sort of drama though would it :)

I can't quite understand why ITV are taking so long to get the 7pm highlights show up on itvPlayer - the next prog after the cycling is always up to view before the cycling is. Tis a real shame as I can't watch at work and am not in before the highlights show starts. Grrr.

And I'm sure it never occurred to Vino that his actions would move him ahead of Contador on GC.....

Seriously, I don't think Vino has any thoughts on winning the tour, also there's a possibility he didn't even know he had dropped Contador.

I agree with that SPR, given that he was burying himself on the front, in the last km, then flicked his elbow with a couple of hundred yards to go for someone else to take over. I really do believe he thought that Contador was still with him.

Contador did look mightily pissed off, but at the same time he was looking down towards the rear wheel. So I took it that he was pissed off having a mechanical in the run in (just a lot less dramatic than Millar hurling his bike down a hill!).

Yeh, your probably right, and lets face it he won't be a match for Contador in the mountains even if he tries it if the Giro is anything to go by. Nicely set up for a good fight with Evans and Schleck now though

I'm really enjoying the tour so far ... the "unexpected" always adds a bit of spice. But it's the mountains that sort out the men from the boys.

RE: ITV ... I just set my recorder every day and watch the highlight show later in the night.

DrDan, sadly I can't get ITV4 on my Freeview box, so have to make do with the online version of itvPlayer :(
