Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Our local carvery pub do TGTG bags. Today I got a breakfast bag for us to share for brunch and I’m getting a carvery bag tonight so we can have a Sunday Roast tomorrow. One bag serves 2 generously.

Breakfast was £2.79 and we got:
2 Lincolnshire sausages
2 slices of bacon
2 hash browns
2 black pudding
Fried potatoes
Mushrooms
Tomatoes
Baked beans
A fried egg

It’s only a 5 minute walk to collect so is handy and good value.

A fried egg? How does that work then? Presumably not a runny egg?

A good stash though

Not runny - it had set but I can cope with that. There was no fighting over it as Geoff likes to dip his sausage in a moist yolk…

I had a carvery box from our local carvery on TGTG and it lasted me a good couple of days as it was all veg, so I only had to get some chicken to go with. I love my veggies and I love a good carvery but I can't justify spending loads of money on veggies unless I can freeze them and mix them up for variety :)

We don’t have an oven at the moment so it’s a good way of getting a roast dinner. Plus I dislike potatoes, especially mash, and rarely buy them apart from Christmas, so Geoff gets roasties and mash for a change.

GM was inspired us! We’ve ordered 3 of the breakfast bags for tomorrow from the local Tobys. 2 x normal and 1 x veggie.

I’ll report back when we’ve brunched.

That was definitely worth it.

Not convinced by the pancake on top of my veggie breakfast but otherwise very much a hit. We’ll do that again.

Have you rescued any Magic Bags today?

I've had the Too Good to Go app on my phone for a few months but not had any success with finding any Magic Bags of food that needed saving near me. If you've not come across it, local shops, cafes and pubs offer bags of unsold food at discounted prices as long as you can collect within a short window of time just before they close, usually.
Today I've reserved 2 bags from Cooplands bakery in our local little town, to be collected 3-3:15p...
