Fizz :-)
I have discovered that our local (again three miles ish) Holiday Inn sells off leftovers from the breakfast buffet.

One of our local chain pubs sells off carvery remnants most days. I’ve had a carvery there and it was very good, but haven’t yet had a bag from there.

Picked up a 14 piece carrot cake for £4.99! Total bargain. Freezable, so it should last a while….or maybe not.

I would think, without checking, my nearest outlet would be a 40 mile round trip 😂

Also: can you stipulate vegetarian? I'd hate to get a roast chicken!

It’s a lucky dip, Hann, so you get what you get, but some outlets offer vegetarian or vegan bags.

our Costa always asks if vegetarian or if there are any allergies when we collect, but that’s the only place that does. Having said that, I’ve only had bags from Costa, Cafe Nero and Morrisons.

You can specifiy vegetarian or vegan only on the app but it really restricts who you get offers from. In a mixed-diet house like mine I take my chances and I'm often lucky but sometimes it's all meat and fish. If you're a solo veggie then you'd have to tick the box I guess.

Also a 40 mile round trip probably outweighs any benefit.

GM, it was from a local bakery near Torquay, that supplies local coffee shops etc. Each slice in a shop would be about £3.50-£4 (the bakery doesn’t sell direct to the public usually). We had a slice each last night and it’s very nice :) In the past we’ve had 1KG of tray bake off cuts from the same place.

Have you rescued any Magic Bags today?

I've had the Too Good to Go app on my phone for a few months but not had any success with finding any Magic Bags of food that needed saving near me. If you've not come across it, local shops, cafes and pubs offer bags of unsold food at discounted prices as long as you can collect within a short window of time just before they close, usually.
Today I've reserved 2 bags from Cooplands bakery in our local little town, to be collected 3-3:15p...
