Have you rescued any Magic Bags today?
I've had the Too Good to Go app on my phone for a few months but not had any success with finding any Magic Bags of food that needed saving near me. If you've not come across it, local shops, cafes and pubs offer bags of unsold food at discounted prices as long as you can collect within a short window of time just before they close, usually. Today I've reserved 2 bags from Cooplands bakery in our local little town, to be collected 3-3:15pm and 2 bags from a Starbucks in the middle of nowhere to be collected at 8:30-9pm. Cooplands cost £3 for £9 of food in each bag; Starbucks cost £4.50 for £13.50 worth of food in each. I'll let you know what we get.

Our local Greene King pub offers left over roast dinners and a vegetarian version for £3.99 reduced from £8.99, but they've always sold out before I've spotted them.

Morrisons grocery bags are also snapped up before I see them. £10 of groceries for £3.09. I guess they will mostly be bakery items with some fresh fruit and veg perhaps.

So very good value for money IF you like sweet treats. We'd have liked more savoury items but I guess they all got sold. As I don't do much baking these days, it's handy to have a few cakes in the freezer for when we have visitors (next week as it happens).

There were 4 other people who were collecting the Magic Bags at 3pm so there was quite a bit of food to rehome today.

Ssssshhhh don’t tell everyone 😂😂😂😜 I’ve had it a while, bags I get regularly are Costa and Greggs … the Costa bags are the best value , often 3 cheese toastie , 2 or 3 sausage or fake sausage cobs , cakes , sometimes smoothies too … usually a couple of days worth of packed
Lunches for work for £3 👏

There's a cheese and ham toastie int he fridge fromt eh BP garage magic bag we got last night.
We do them fairly often (maybe twice a week) as it's a short walk down to collect them.
It varies massively in terms of value. We had a bag which was just potatoes once. At the other end of the scale we've had a whole roast chicken, salad pot and ready meal.

Wondering what's in the bag is all part of the excitement - a bag of just potatoes. I'd have been gutted 😂 Our Costa hardly ever has bags available, but I do check often!
Update - Starbucks doesn't have enough surplus food so has cancelled my order. Last week we got a cheese and ham GF panini, a cheese and ham croissant, a blueberry muffin and an almond and raspberry mini loaf in our bag for £4.50
