I had such a great weekend. I loved the music, I don't think I could have slept anyway due to the "DAVE", "PETE", "PHIL"'s! What a lovely, lovely lot of runners. I'm still tired and a little emotional :) Well done everyone.

With a caravan you have the problem of having a caravan. ;-)

I/my team have to lay claim to 2 of the Phils sazzle - one was me and apparently loud enough to be heard from the tents, the other (we had 2 Phils in the team) was apparently stood in the corale (sp?) but had his music up at that point so did not notice the entire crowd around him chanting his name...

Jovi Runner
For each of our laps we stood on that final corner before the last uphill and once we'd seen our runner (it was easier to spot them there) dashed round to the start. As we approached the corner we shouted out the person who we were looking for. I had to laugh when on a few occassions other teams did the same although when no one answered they reverted to other team members in an ever more desperate attempt hoping someone was there...Paul?, Phil (said in slightly louder voice), Tony (getting more desperate)...Pete (now sounding manic!) LOL

My first Thunder Run and it was a great weekend. Couldn't fault the course, organisation and definitely not the support - both from supporters and all the other runners. I was solo and managed 15 laps for 8th place, which I'm pretty chuffed with!

So many great memories (almost outweighing the pain in my legs today...!) - will definitely do a rare blog later. Well done to everyone, and a huge thank you to anyone who gave encouragement to the solo runners - it all helped!

Haha Rich, I had the same problem with my tent last year. Roger and I spent ages trying to fold up the tent and ended up folding it into a tangled mess and shoving it back into my car. It stayed in my shed like that until a week before this year's event.

Look on youtube and there are several videos demonstrating how to do it. I had no problems this year.... you just have to make sure you squeeze all the air out first, as my Facebook photos demonstrate!

Ha! That must be why, on my way out of the site, I saw one of those pop-up tents - apparently in perfect working order - perched on top of all the rubbish in one of the big skips .......

Hills of Death (HOD)
I had plenty of sleep because A I'm a lazy bassa B I can sleep thru a hurricane C My foot hurt so I couldn't run anymore :-(

82nd place we beat our mixed team of 8 in our club but not the 4 fast males and one of the ladies who were 10th. We have Male winner in club and H17 had a top 10 in ladiezz. So good all round.

DeeGee I don't think we'd of gained many places I worked out 12 maybe if Rich would of run cause he didn't do enough ;-) (I was smashed, so was Becca, Dawn just gone so had DG and FR went home)

Slow and Ultra Steady
Had a great weekend again. The best event of the year by far!!
Loads of great people and fantastic support all the way round the course.

Found the course tougher than before but my 6 laps was only 3 minutes behind last years time. Definate improvement due to the miles i now put in :)

Back next year for more punishment and excitement for sure!!

Thanks to the team....Damn Willy Wonkas Eyes for an excellent time :)

I found some YouTube vids and wrestled the tent out of the boot of the car only for the rain to start. I've wrestled it back into the boot of the car for now.

This is why camping is terrible and should only be undertaken by poor people, Cub Scouts and fugitives from the law.
