Thanks, Steve. I took the liberty of creating a race for it in Fetch's database. Incidentally—a tip for punters: if someone posts a tip like “I'll be running a half in two weeks” but you want to wait before betting, then it's handy to use the pin to keep the post. You don’t then lose the tip back some pages in the forum. You can then review your pinned tips a day or two before a weekend, when you are more likely to be looking for bets. |

Now then.... I did say to @Ness that I was unlikely to improve my current 5k 90-day benchmark of 29:09 by 2 Feb. However, two things have changed my opinion. Firstly, I have checked and my 90-day benchmark will drop to 29:50 after today: Secondly - and this was also unplanned - I'm now doing a parkrun this Saturday - my first of the year - at Tamworth, on well rested legs. So, I've set myself the challenge of running it in 29:49, which I should be capable of, with the caveat that I've never done Tamworth before so the course is unfamiliar to me. Caveat emptor & all that. I'll wait until my benchmark actually drops (presumably overnight) before turning myself gold. ![]() |

Just had another thought (2 in 1 day!) I won't know until tomorrow if losing the benchmark run from 1 Nov will also reduce my no. of 5k runs under the number required to allow betting on me. |

Noted Sigh! đź‘€ good luck! I have a half marathon on Sunday. I'd give myself a 50-50 chance of beating my benchmark. I'm going to try, I'm in at least as good a shape as I was for my last one which is the current benchmark, but as that measured long, my benchmark is tough. I think it's 1:36:13 and my race time was 1:36:25. A perfect day would get me 1:35-something. But, please don't bet loads of points on me. This isn't my main target race, it's an interim 'see where I'm at' one! So apologies in advance if it doesn't come off. I'll try my best and also hope that for once, the weather gods may be on my side unlike my last 2 HM races! My 10 mile and 10k benchmarks were also set in my last HM race, so in theory they're up for grabs too but again, touch n go and only marginal gains if any to be had. |

Fetch put this game in the newsletter which I read but it sounds a bit complicated to me!
