My lad was on T-class boats. He took me round Trenchant. Yes, I can vouch for the spacious nature of the accommodation Even scarier was when he showed me the "bomb shop" and described how they got Tomahawks into the boat. Onto topic: Russian TV has been making much of that video. And showing rather more graphic scenes from it than our media. The Ukrainians need to put a stop to this if they are to maintain the moral high ground. |

Also, anyone not sure of the Kremlin's intentions should read this, by a columnist at one of its tame media outlets. It's translated into English. medium.com |

Jeepers that article makes for chilling reading, Muttley. The Ukrainian civilians are 'passive Nazis'? The excuse for committing genocide God help the Ukrainians. I can't see anything but a fully engaged war with the West coming out of this mindset. |

That's terrible. From Slovenia?? My neighbour is Slovenian, I must show her this (I won't really). Just a quick observation from yesterday's UN vote. Just 93 of the 193 voting members gave a Yes to kicking Russia of the HR council, surprisingly low I thought - it just goes to show you the extent of Russia's influence and the fear of ramifications for an "unfriendly act". The Russian's actually resigned from the council rather than being kicked off. |

They apparently resigned after the vote. And were told by the Ukrainian rep that "you don't hand in your notice after you've been sacked"!

It feels like there's an asymmetry about the way Ukrainian forces are meant to uphold the rules of warfare regarding protection of POWs while the invaders mercilessly bomb train stations killing many civilians inc several children (which happened a short time ago, Kramatorsk in Donetsk region) Of course I realise two wrongs don't make a right. It's just odd that you can invade another country, go on a killing spree murdering their civilians in cold blood but when the other side catch you (or you surrender) they are required to offer you protection. |

Fuzzy - that's exactly how it seems, a paradox of war. Conflict is ugly and these things happen, it's hard to order your troops to handle captured prisoners with kid gloves.
