Interesting move by the Lithuanians. They've applied the EU sanctions to goods in transit across their territory but those goods are not being exported, they're going from one part of Russia to another. There's been no talk of a military response but Lithuania still shares much of its electricity grid with Russia. |

I presume though that those cables continue into Kaliningrad? So cannot be turned off? But yeah Lithuania needs to decouple. |

It's working on that but needs a couple of years yet. In other news, here's a longer clip of that Russian ammo dump cooking off. It was hit by a Ukrainian ballistic missile. Starts in earnest about 2:30 in. Apparently the whole thing lasted hours. I mean, holy shit. |

I had to reload my Reddit app to see that. Very unsporting. I have to say that this latest attack on the shopping centre might polarise world opinion. If the munitions were launched from old BACKFIRE bombers (which I can't believe are still flying), then that means it would have been the AS-4 missile, correct? Not the most accurate weapon. |

That's the act that might just solidify NATO's position to actually do something to help Ukraine rather than mass just over the boarder having a nice chat.

Said to be a Kh-22 missile, aka the AS-4. Russia, unsurprisingly, is claiming it's a fake. |

bbc.co.uk Please don't tell me the Russians weren't planning on attacking these in UK waters while training. |

There seems to be two schools of thought regarding the current state of the war in Ukraine: either the Russians have instigated a 'pause' while they regroup and re-supply ready for a major offensive, or they are so low on man- and fire-power that the 'pause' is 'have run out of what they need'. In the meantime I hope, the Ukrainians have been getting the arms they need from the West to at least rebuff and hopefully push back the Russians. What's the thinking on Fetch on the state of play? |
