I’ve got some Decathlon winter leggings that have a windproof water repellent bit on the front of the thighs - they make a real difference when it’s properly cold and wet, think fleecy ones would be too warm to run in at home but would be great for winter hill walking

Last winter I ran in two pairs of thermal leggings and note from my training log that at no stage did I overheat. Like I say, I feel the cold.

When I say two pairs, I mean I wore one on top of the other.

Tikka I'm the same and often run in the winter wearing 2 pairs of tights. My Under Armour ColdGear tights are probably the best I have when it's cold and wet.

I feel your pain if you’m struggle with feeling the cold my upper body def struggles with cold so I’m wrapped up on top but can happily wear skorts in winter - but then a lot depends on the type of cold I feel it more if it’s damp cold weather than crisp frosty type day.

geordiegirl I'm the other way round. As long as I'm suitably dressed I have no problem keeping my torso warm. But my legs don't function well in cold weather, I'm OK walking but for running my quads, hamstrings and glutes just seize up.

It's not that unusual, I did read an article about it, it was referring mainly to track athletes, irrespective of warming up and warm kit they just can't run in the cold. I'm usually OK for short runs but if it's very cold I won't run over 8-10 miles. For that reason, I don't race in the winter.

Talking of cold .. why do some track dudes wear 1 arm warmer? I assumed that arm warmers were there to use as a warm up instead of a LS top then take off when warm - well that's how I use them!
so why 1?
and why don't we have unicorn arm warmers?
and why are they always too long for me?!
