I am wearing my new shorts. I bought them months ago but it stopped being shorts weather. I'm about to go for a run in them. They have stars on and are blue.

Its definitely shorts weather!! I would have posted that I had worn my skort on Sunday but I had worn it in the snow for a snow angel the week before (belated photo because I think I'm officially nuts)

Today's newt I've been for my contact review and extending my contact lens trial. However, the real newt is that despite paying for glasses for ages, I've picked up some cheap 'readers' to test whether having 2 different prescription glasses one for computer work and one for reading will work. These are amazing! If I win the lottery I would still go for lens replacement, I'm not good looking through a lens.

Is it that warm in London? Love the sound of the EU shorts.

Very spring like walk with Jess the dog this morning, I noticed lots more flowers - even though a few were out before I went away. Croak-eye, daisies, dandelions, wild daffs, that vetchy purple stuff. But best of all the wild garlic is just sprouting through. It would have been mean picking the small leaves today but by next week a small bagful (clean poo bag does the trick) will be fine and after that LOTS and LOTS.

I love wild garlic.

Oh that is early for wild garlic, or it is up north - may need to keep my eyes peeled on my next woodland jaunt. Still have some wild garlic butter in the freezer

Me too Sharkie. The smell always reminds me of Brathay :-)

Congratulations Maz! And HP - good choice. I like the sound of your shorts Linds.

Just back from a walk with run bits. It's really windy. I'd love to know how strong the wind gets here. My weather app says gusts up to 51 mph. I need one of those little measuring gizmos. No newts yet today tho.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
