Good result for your son and I hope your daughter has the same soon Baz.

Unfortunately rates are rising in Florida - I don't think our punt heatwave is going to have any beneficial effect.

Rates are rising all over Europe according to the BBC :-(

gg - results are typically on the BBC news 'live update' as they are announced, or here coronavirus-staging.data.gov.uk

I still don't understand the mindset of people who leave litter, or as you say, make it worse by smashing the bottles. Thanks for clearing it up - wherever it is! Do you have a local facebook group? Maybe take a pic and post and hope friends/relatives may recognise and/or influence the pertetrators? Our is very hot on fly tipping at the moment.

It still surprises me that the daily deaths figure regularly includes some deaths backdated from April & May. I'm not sure whether the graphs are reset to the date of death, or the date that the death due to or with covid is recorded.

Kids are not bad round by us. We have a few problems with fires in summer, barbeques or just deliberate fire-starting. But litter isn't too bad. I picked up about 4 bits in a mile yesterday and same in a couple half mile sections today.

I'm glad things are opening up, but we need people to get into the mindset of how to behave in order to be open AND safe. :-) G

They occasionally change some historical figures (just a day or two ago they added in abut 100 historical deaths), I think this is when they discover some inconsistency or previously-missing records. There is also a separate time series of deaths by true date of death (produced by ONS) which is a much more correct record of the epidemic (and doesn't have the weekend dip) but this has a perpetual low bias in the last few days as these are never up to date.

I have just been out for a 6 mile walk. I saw a group of teens playing in the river as I went by but generally there were far fewer pedestrians than a few weeks ago.
