Note that StellaFella1967 made it into the cutoff, whereas theOtherRichard was 4 squares of ownership short. (3 to equal the same ownership, but explored count was not as high.) However, for StellaFella1967, ownership of two squares was by one single point. On the flip side, StellaFella1967 had 8 squares where only one more point was needed for ownership (cake). Similarly, theOtherRichard had 7 squares of cake. It just shows how finely balanced the game was, and the difference between owning quite a few more squares is sometimes only a small amount.
