Our Tesco is now accepting tupperware etc instead of using plastic bags from the store. That's ok, but I hardly ever buy stuff from their fresh meat/deli counter to make use of it. Perhaps I should alter my shopping habits now I have the opportunity.

Or, maybe I should try harder and not going to Tesco in the first place!! Went this morning (Saturday) and quickly regretted it, made it most of the way round before I lost the plot but it was packed and i was bristling for a fight by the time I'd done. Just my normal weekly shop.

International air travel is terrible for single use plastic :( (and also terrible for the environment footprint in general, which is why (a) I did the best I could to minimise my footprint and (b) tacked a holiday on to the work travel to get the most "value" from the flights.

1. took my warm jumper in my carry-on rather than hold luggage so I didn't need to the use the (plastic wrapped) blanket
2. used a water bottle (which the cabin crew ere happy to refill for me) rather than plastic cups on the flight (except once when I was too sleepy to communicate clearly enough)
3. when I had a ginger beer I had it straight from the can and refused a plastic cup and straw

The cabin crew seemed very happy for me to minimise plastic waste :)

I'm looking for ideas for gifts for 3yo's... So far, I've got:
- second hand playmobil (is it acceptable to gift second hand stuff??)
- some cookie cutters (metal) / baking kit.

and now I am stuck...
I've got quite a few ideas for things for my kids but this is for other people's kids!

I have given 2nd hand. I don't know if it is acceptable!
Books. Make your own play dough / cookies kit - ingredients in a jar, instructions. Wooden toys - blocks, wood slices, rainbow, animals. Erm.
