Changed things up yesterday and did my 8 miler after work. It turned out to be an eventful run. Firstly couldn't keep my pace down but was feeling good and wasn't too much quicker than I should of been so not overly worried about it.
But then when trying to get passed a couple of teenagers a moments lapse in concentration meant I went for a tumble and managed to scrap my knees reasonably badly. The left one is definitely the worst. So was a blood streaked mess when I got home. It was then I also noticed that I had scraped my left elbow as well. So lots of fun and future stinging on the cards for a while!

Ow RA grazed knees always make me feel like a child. When I was about 40 I fell over at east coastal marathon and scraped my knees. The ambulance man asked if it was the site of a previous injury and I had to admit I’d had a long history of bloody knees but notsomuch since I turned 12

Ouch RA, sounds like a fall I saw on a very slippery path earlier this week!
January mileage is now 50: behind the target for 700 but more than I've done for a few years. Happy with that.

Went for a long run this morning & to make life more interesting, I sought out some of Brightons steeper hills. When I got to the top of the Brighton Race Course, I looked to the West & saw some dirty black clouds rolling my way. Needless to say, half way down Wilsons Avenue, it absolutely tipped it down. It continued chucking it down all the way to the pier. When I eventually got home, my grandson said, "Grandad, you look like a drowned rat," & then burst out laughing.
A hot cup of tea never tasted so good.

Ooh nice bling LG! I went on a few geography field trips back in the day which always involved wading into the sea in wellies to measure beach gradient and the water always went over the top and filled the wellies. Also I remember a horrible school trip to France and the dorms blocks were surrounded by sand, which seemed to get everywhere and into the beds and it was like sleeping on a biscuit it felt that gritty.
Week 3 of my new job and it's going well, still not doing that much yet, I seem to be able to work my way into it and build up at my own pace which is lovely.
