I think so LD. It will be very cold the activities will be challenging she will be in the company of her peers with no respite and she’ll be completely cut off for 3 days. She may love it. If she doesn’t however it will do more harm than good and there’s nothing I can do about it.

I went to Swanage on a field trip but i must have been about 15. The World Cup was on, which the boys were obsessed about, and we had a mega thunderstorm one night.
My kids both did school trips in year 6, and both really enjoyed them. It made the trip at the start of year 7 at their new school seem very tame!

Morning! Coffee #1, listening to the pouring rain. I'm sure it looked light at this time yesterday!
Swanage really has cornered the market in these things hasn't it? I went to a place called Greatwood when I was nine and then Longbottom when I was 12 - both in the Mendips (Somerset to you). Found my camping diary from the latter recently. Daughter said I sounded like the kind of girl she'd be friends with.
She really enjoyed her Y6 residential and is looking forward to another, shorter, one soon. I think the teachers work harder at keeping them happy than mine did. It's likely to be a very positive thing for you daughter Dipps.

Morning all. Another short part-commute run. Legs need some decent stretching this evening I think. If I can get my kit dry I might do the same run home this eve.

Eldest grandson is off for school trip this year (Battle, Hastings) and slightly worried how he will cope (on the autistic spectrum) but hoping he will love it

Morning Our yr 7s go to PGL nr Swanage for an activity residential - is that the same place? Youngest went to a different one with the scouts instead - cost about 1//10th of the amount!
Do the Tri Meg
I was all ready to go run, but the heavens opened whilst I was driving youngest to the bus stop, the traffic was awful and a 5 min drive became 15 and now I CBA. Had a cup of tea and a read of thread and now there' not much time to do anything indoors either.

My two went to the IoW, just a hop and a skip from Fleecy's house. When I was in primary school I went on a day trip to Bristol Zoo. No residential trips in those days - maybe that record 'Hello mother hello father' was played too often for anyone to think it was a good idea
I'm in my running kit but it is absolutely chucking it down . I will walk the dog and hope it stops.

Was thinking of a stay in Swanage in May or June for SWCP - but sounds like it's overrun with teenage school trips? Best to go pre exam period, or doesn't it matter?
