Always come behind the dog and the boy when it comes to packing Ally Fortunately for me we’ve no kids & can’t take the cats away🙀

I’ve stayed at a number of sites where other campers have brought their cats with them.

We had a neighbour in Spain last year who had two parrots in their van. They'd made a right mess of the window blinds.

Our sailing has been postponed because Britannia Ferries are expecting the Bay of Biscay to be a bit choppy.

Crivens. Given the conditions they will sail through, it must be looking pretty ropey!

Just had a short break in Oxford. We don't usually stay at club sites, but it worked well at this time of year. The Caravan and Camping club site it just over the road from Redbridge park & ride. Facilities a bit old but really clean. You can access a nice towpath walk in to the centre, about two miles, or get a variety of buses, including the park & ride one.
15 minute ride and ten to fifteen minute walk to University Parks, where there is a parkrun, so got a U for my alphabet. Great museums and architecture.

Cats Whiskers
Hi. We’re thinking of getting a small campervan but I’m not really sure where to start, so was hoping to get some advice, please.

We don’t have a huge budget, so I’ve been looking at VW T4s. Many of them have done more than 100K miles. That seems a lot to me, but I then read that many will last for up to 250K, so is a van that’s done 150K still a reasonable bet?

The standard kit seems to be a bed, fridge, sink and hob. Is there anything else we should look out for / try to avoid?

And are there any other makes/models that it would be worth looking at?

Thanks in advance!

Our T4 had just under 250k miles on it and still went like a dream. Think it depends on history of the van. It also depends on what for and how you to plan to use it as for the spec. Will ask OH for any do's and don't when I get home. We had some great adventures in out T4

Thanks, Mandymoo. I won’t be put off by the higher mileages then.

Oh said check for any hidden rust (door seals etc, across the front above windscreen, wheeelarches etc).

As like anything they can be a money pit but if you get a basic van they are fun to.convert - we did out T4 and T6
