Dave that sounds like a very unhappy/frightened dog or one seriously in pain perhaps. Lets hope the hydrotherapy helps and leaves it less scared for next time.

MN can't remember if you have already done any crate training and what happened if so but if you haven't yet, then if a crate can be established as a safe space where he feels secure it might not be a bad thing.

I have ordered some of that spray and it should be arriving today so can let you know if it's successful!

stairs are just so bad for dachshunds, if Chester was allowed upstairs we would have to carry him up and down each time and I don't want to be getting into that- I have so many horrific visions of me falling down the stairs while holding him. plus we deliberately put laminate downstairs and carpet upstairs because he digs up the carpet.

we have done crate training- he sleeps happily in his crate over night and has some naps in there during the day. but I just don't want to have to put him in there all day while we are working- I'd much prefer him to have the run of downstairs if we can

Make sure you try the spray on an inconspicuous part of the material you are wanting to use it on, to make sure it doesn't damage first MN (well, thats what I've read when we have looked at it).

Feel like he has become grown up and we didn't notice.

The skirting board is already pretty ruined! can confirm the spray is disgusting and I have now stunk out the kitchen. whether it will stop the chewing is to be seen.

Albie’s final baby canine finally fell out today. I think his teething is nearing an end 🤞
He’s been a lot more settled 😊

I agree Sharkie. This is the dog that was not going to be allowed upstairs let alone on the bed.

That purple blanket is to keep him off the duvet. Hmmm!
