Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

View from just a bit further north than @flip this morning on my way to yoga.
I did a skins dip and beach sauna at King Eddies 2 weeks ago and I reckon that’s the coldest I’ve felt the water.

Yours was sunrise, mine was sunset :-) The water was 10* and felt so much more comfortable than the 3* in the lido last week!

Thanks @sallykate - I’m looking for a new swimsuit, so will check out the links. I’m wondering whether it’s worth getting a long sleeve one, or just exposing more skin to the cold water.

Really was a beautiful morning. I'm in again on Sunday for a skins and dip . Hope we get just as good a sunrise . It really does lift your spirits .

On your subject of wetsuits . A few years ago I bought the men's version of this . My thinking was that it was a good starter wetsuit and I'd move on to a bit better one if I really got into tri's and a bit slimmer . I got into tri's but alas not much slimmer 😂 ( I'm trying )

But I've stuck with it because I like it so much .

The arms are orange so high visibility and made of something called Infinityskin neoprene . It's super stretchy and very difficult to put a hole in ,unlike most wetsuits. I've swam 5 miles in it and most weeks in the sea and I only ever rince it off ..

I was top 25 in a 2.4 mile sea swim tri and I'm old and only average simmer so those fancy very expensive wetsuits can't add that much if anything.

I don't wear wetsuits much now but you have to for some organized swims and tri's and It's getting the odd small holes in now. I'll probably change it later in the year .for the same one as I like it that much .

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
