I'm going there with my youngest who turns 16 in couple of weeks. However, if I buy a Family and Friends Railcard for a year before her birthday, it is valid for the whole year even after she turns 16. That means a £224 return for us both becomes £95. Even with the £30 for the card, I am saving my fuel and parking costs, not to mention wear and tear on me and my car.
