Another chance for 190m of elevation in your parkrun at Delamere tomorrow on the B course. Really quite bizarre that Forestry England seem to be finding it challenging to find a chainsaw to clear the tree off the course!

it's usually the problem finding the person to drive the chain saw that is the issue

AIUI Ayr parkrun is indefinitely cancelled for similar reasons. Maybe there’s a bit of a shortage of chainsaw wielders currently. Coincidentally I’m going to up to visit my mum there and prune some of her trees…

Captain Cooks fell race on NYD had a very minor detour round a fallen tree. I came down the same route on Tuesday night and it's still there - plus a second one. Though that said, I don't think it's technically a footpath so may be there some time longer, perhaps even indefinitely with the ad hoc diversion becoming the new desire path. It actually looks like a chainsaw has been up and cleared a third tree. |

It's been three weekends at least now since the tree fell, and it's across a major footpath that I would have thought would be well used irrespective of parkrun. Really odd.

We have had an electric fence across the course for over a month while various bits of tree surgery are being done and fallen trees cleared. Fortunately it's turned off and the landowner has given permission for a marshall to just hold it down to the ground while runners, buggies, dogs etc go over it.

Ayr's last run seems to have been 18 Jan. Ditto for paths, it's a popular well-used park and generally well maintained. Perhaps just not the highest priority to fix, there are probably plenty of useable paths for most visitors.
