The cancellations page is perfect for anyone to check. Only thing is I wonder how many people know it's there. I never knew about it until I saw it posted here in the past.

I don’t think it helps it’s not an obvious link from the main page. TBF google “parkrun cancellations” and it comes up so it’s not exactly hard to find, but you have to account for people…

Most people probably don't think of parkrun as a national organisation, they just know about their local one. So the idea of checking a national cancellations page just won't occur to many people.

It's not just not an obvious link, there is no link at all. It's a massive failure on the part of the organisation not to implement such a simple step. Event teams take crap all the time because people get angry about not knowing about cancellations.

I see they have added a prominent link to the safeguarding policy though. That's great. Millions of people will find that useful.

At least on the web pages for Twitter and Facebook, rather than "see more" you get "Current cancellations can be found here 👉 http://parkrun.org.uk/cancellations"

Not very discoverable, but for a specific event, I find the "future roster" page to be useful, as soon as the event is cancelled on the website, the roster fills in "no event" for each position on the roster.

A sudden dump of snow (starting about 0515 here in Central Scotland according to radar) has meant that nearly all my local runs (bar one currently) are cancelled. Issue for some being not just the course, but access, as no time for roads to have been cleared.

View from my friend's flat 10 minutes from Pollock Park. We've had a cuppa and chat instead of going to parkrun. Never seen so much snow in Glasgow.

I didn't look up which parkruns were still on as I didn't want to ask my friend to drive somewhere in those conditions. If it had been me and shanksi we would have gone somewhere else 😉

Delamere was perfect, -4 but the nature of the surface meant it was as grippy as it could be. Beautiful too.
