Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sushi.
I've switched from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy.

I can't get my watch and phone to pair on Bluetooth.

They're both in pair mode and close together.

Even switched everything off and on and reinstalled app.

Any suggestions (other than go back to iPhone or ditch the garmin)

I have a Samsung s9, I don't think you pair via Bluetooth settings in the phone. I think only via the Garmin connect app. Maybe that's it?

Other than that, not sure. Try the IT special of turning both off & on again

I changed my phone recently. Just checking what it is..... A Samsung Galaxy A21s. It syncs fine with my new Garmin which I bought last Saturday.

Sushi, when you delete the app on the phone also go to the Bluetooth settings and delete the watch from there. Then reboot the Garmin. Sometimes the app gets confused but old 8nstances of the watch in the settings. I have an iPhone but Mrs and Miss C have Android and Garmins and they work fine.

Someone asked a few pages ago about how to get decent battery life from a fenix 6. These are the steps I go through before an ultra on a 5x to maximise battery life:

Disconnect from the phone (press & hold the light button and choose disconnect phone. If the option isn't there you can add it through the Controls options in Settings). This effectively turns of Bluetooth unless you connect headphones.

Turn of the Pulse-Ox measurement. This eats battery. So much so I keep it off all the time.

Unless you really need them turn of step counting and such stuff. A marginal gain, but they all count.

Don't use mapping or navigation unless you need it.

Just use one GPS platform (not GPS + Glonass etc)

Why are the splits in my Walk so weird? Fine (miles) in the notes field but tiny in the detailed analysis.
