Location superb, parkrun and lots of culture on the doorstep, Peak District a stone's throw away, house needs some updating. Conditional upon a full survey, I'd live there

God I wish I hadn't seen that! We're seriously considering upping sticks and moving to Buxton from St Albans. That's a lovely location and a gorgeous house but about 250k above what we're looking to spend.

Some good places in Buxton Mulbs for a lot less than that, but I'd go a little more southern as you Buxton gets traffic problems. Apart from the Opera House and the parkrun it's not my fav.

Thats a very nice house, aside from trying to pretend the hall is a dining room.
I’d buy it

And there's a larder in the sitting room.

With all those sinks in the bedrooms, I wonder if it has been a B&B.

I like it a lot and Buxton is on our 'list' too - but it's over twice the size and twice the budget we're looking at

Taddington is nice up that way. And a great little fell like race in the summer (actually mostly on lanes).
