I have the original Zoom Flys and the 4% - the flys are noticeably heavier and more substantial than the 4% - more stable upper and longer lasting tread (so defo better for everyday training). However with a 16.20 parkrun pb in the 4% and 16.23 in the flys you may want to say over £100!

Yeah but multiply that up over a marathon :-)

True jda, and I suspect over a marathon the benefits of less weight (I think about 50g per shoe) will be even greater than that 1 second a mile. And the vaporflys feel much nicer too with that barely-there upper. Still, tis a lot of cash.

I still think no other shoes have left my feet feeling as fresh after a marathon like the Vaporflys. Hopefully the Zoom Flys have a better thread than the Epic Reacts, they seem to wear after only about 100 miles.

I'm wondering if anyone on here that is a "heel striker" has tried the VFs, especially since the shoes seem to force you into a forefoot position.

Gobi, forced is probably a strong word but as someone who has had to retrain to run forefoot, running in that style are much more easier with the VF's, probably due to the high stack height.

I guess I'm already where they want you as have always been mid foot. (Forefoot implies balls and thats a road to injury)

I run most of the time in Nike Free.

The fore and aft height difference is not that much so it must just be the way the foot rolls forward as you go through the motion.

Having come from the free which is low I found them strange for about 3 runs but now I am not sure how much difference I notice changing between shoes.

I feel the cushion and they are light but my general run motion feels largely the same. Expect my stride length is longer at speed in the 4%.
