Velo - do it!!
Do you want me tell you the story of how I bought my 1st pair when I was drunk?! Anyway, went to the Nike store at Oxford Circus after an afternoon in the pub. I can’t imagine what I must have looked like on the treadmill trying the sizes out!! Purchased 2 further pairs sober.
They are great!!

I won't be doing any proper going-for-a-time races in the next couple of months. I'll wait and see whether my marathon training suggests I'm in "marginal gains" territory before spending four times my usual upper limit on a pair of racing daps.
Or there's the getting-drunk option ...

Shoes arrived yesterday, could have done with half a size bigger but I'll manage. Certainly have an interesting profile on the underside to encourage some mid/forefoot action
Will give them one run this week then wrap them up for the winter, don't want them catching the cold.

Did you make an unboxing video? I still haven't worn mine outdoors. Do a few strides and let us know how they feel.
I've just found/scheduled a flat fast 10k this weekend (lancaster). However I think I'll still keep the magic shoes back to the end of the month when I've got a bigger race. That way I'll get a bit of a benchmark against the adios too.

I'm excited for you both!
I'll miss you by a week JDA - I'll be back up on home turf over the Xmas period and with other parts of the family just having moved over towards Ireby I'm getting closer to your manor all the time. I've never actually raced any of those events that start / finish on the Salt Ayre site but I need to, particularly on a nice calm day.

Does that mean you're up here for the Ribble Valley 10k on the 30th WW?
This weekend's race is actually on another bit of cycle path a little bit further up river (3-1-5 club). But it's all flat and fairly fast from what I gather. Al least compared to the roads further inland

I've got to go back to work on Friday 28th
No racing now until February actually. Need to do some proper training rather than chancing and getting lucky / relying on the shoes for improvements.
