A few runners in my club used the dragonfly spikes in our last league match which was in a park.

SPR I agree a single workout isn't completely conclusive but I am usually pretty consistent in showing week-on-week improvement this early in the plan. HR data showed a similar level of effort and conditions were slightly better this time than the week before. I was just consistently a bit slower through the session.

Another lab study on efficiency gains of Vaporfly 4% racer vs conventional racer, this time looking at running uphill and downhill.
Their figures show less benefit uphill and downhill than on the level, but still a worthwhile gain.
Level running savings - 3.83%
uphill running savings - 2.82%
downhill running savings - 2.70%

The control shoe there was Nike Streak, which might have been the best racing shoe before VF, worth slightly more than 2% according to the big strava study (but note wide confidence intervals)

nytimes.com

If you're thinking 2% better than what (like me!) then the table they show in that article suggests Adidas Ultraboost/Boost franchise are close to 0% benefit. Everything (inc the Adidas models) is relative to some other shoe...

Mr. Grumpy
Here’s Minimag. Just ordered a pair for myself. Wouldn’t have bought any at full price, but at 50% off it’s just too hard to say no. Looking forward to giving them a blast to see what all the fuss is about.
I took a punt on size 8.5 cos I’ve got some Zoom Fly 3’s in an 8, which are a bit smaller than I’d have liked, more so on the width but also the length. I’m an 8 in two other Nike models though…

Further 6% off that if you go through TopCashback (once I logged in it tells me 5.1% so they must have me marked down as a wrong'un*)
