Brunski, I have the Endorphin Pros myself and have never felt they gave me a noticeable speed boost, but in fairness there have been other things working against me in the races I've used them, so I'm not sure whether I've really been able to do them justice. Although they seem in theory to have all the necessary attributes of the record-breaking shoes, I haven't really heard much about people knocking significant amounts off their PBs with these, unlike with the Nikes and a couple of others such as Asics Metaspeed Sky and Adidas Adizero Adios Pro. Of course, much of that will be to do with sponsorship deals, but I've not even seen it at an amateur level.

Having said all that, I do like the shoes and I reckon they are at least as fast as any others I've worn. Just not big-chunk-off-PB fast for me so far.

I did another PB interval session in my gyakusou ugly as sin next% shoes today. I’m surprised at my early season form and the shoes must be helping. Not sure if they are faster than the original VF though.

My assessment so far is

Original 4% first shoes I tried felt great doing a 5 miler had 2 other not so good races but that was more heat/lack of racing after covid.

VF felt natural really can keep a pace going and gives me what I need for a half (done 2 half’s in them now)

AF was pleasantly surprised as this gave me extra bounce (and a 5 mile pb) be interesting to see what to use for the marathon

I’m definitely planning on my new alphafly for my target marathon but don’t want to wear them out first! Maybe do the ribble 10k at Christmas and then a half in Feb to see how I go in them.

Think these Gyakusou Next% must be pretty quick. Just did 37:52 for a 10k on a not terribly fast course (*lots* of corners and gradient changes). I'll try the original VF 4% on the Ribble Valley 10k in a couple of weeks for a comparison.

I'd love to see some data on whether the speed boost deteriorates as the foam ages/degrades.

Presume you're referring to degradation in the he box without use?

I degrade without use, so I don't see why shoes should be any different. :)

Anyone tried the Puma Deviate Nitro Elites yet? There was a lot of buzz about them a while back but I've not heard anything much for a while.
