Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Peacey - It really depends on how Berlin goes but if you don't pick up any niggles or injuries you should be fine.

If I was doing it properly I'd probably do 1 week recovery then two weeks gentle training then a short one week taper.

Good luck in Berlin its a great run.

Peacey, as Joe says wait and see. Make sure you get enough recovery after the first one and don't worry too much about lsr's between them as the miles will be in the legs. I have found that sometimes they work out better and others not so good. I'm sure Joe would agree with me as he has done a few close together. I done 4 within 8 weeks last year and 3 of them were only 9 seconds difference, all PB's

Peacey I will be doing my attempt 5 weeks before Abo and will still give it legs. :-) Going to take the 4 week inter mara plan from P&D and double up with the first week and so have 2 recovery weeks.

A month is plenty to recover, do a b it and then taper off again.

I may be hot on your tail at Abo. ;-)

Good positive attitude there Biastai. Better make sure that there is no bungy strap attached to you Peacey ;-)

As for whether to race Abo or not, listen to your body Peacey. That is the best gauge to determine how to approach Abo rather than be led by what a book says.

Ran just over 18M today at 8:10mm avg. However my Garmin showed 21M with a new world record of 8secs for a mile and 2 other miles of 38 secs and 59 secs - now either I have improved dramatically or my Garmin may be lying to me ;-) If only it was the former!

Enjoy the hols RFJ and good to see you today. Well, the FIRST schedules didn't fail me, 18:19 at NHTT. Very happy with that, next targets nearer 18:00 and 37:xx 10k time. Then Brighton Half 1:25 next Feb, followed by unknown marathon sub 3:00. Sorted!
There's a new marathon in Brighton in April 2010, but it's £45, so not keen on that.

Runa - I knew you were quick, but blimey! :-P

21 for me today, the highest P&D go to. A slightly lower week this week, then a big 'un again then its cruise on in for Fleetwood. :-) Happy days!

I feel this P&D lark has helped build my endurance, but I won't really know until I test it on the day. My HR has dropped dramatically, so I guess that means my running economy has improved, therefore I should last longer. :-)

Cheers for the posts guys, think ill assess after Berlin.

I actually recovered quite quickly after FLM so i could use the 4 week inter mara plan from P&D.

Biastai - Your flying mate, Fleetwood looks bang on for you to sub 3.15 :-)

20 for me today, my 3rd 20 in the last 3 weeks, as i cant do much speed sessions due to my shin injury im banging out these LSR's in the hope my endurance is improving as i felt this let me down a tad at FLM.

Great running by all again today, nice :-)
