Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I know - and races in metres not miles ;)

Well earned rest day for me today - a wee wights sesh and a massage. My excuse for running slow y'day has gone as my hamstrings are alright. Suspect the effect of 5 mixed races consecutively may have caused the legs to rebel... or maybe the lack of sleep.

Back on the road tomorrow night... have a possible duathlon earmarked for later in the month....

A lovely gentle 8 miles tonight. First 4 with my OH who is just getting into running. A *brilliant* way to do an enforced, slower recovery pace! lol. Brilliant evening. AlanR and RFJ - thanks for that. I'll need to ask our resident track bloke at my club (we're an AC, dontcha know?!) about local races. But perhaps next year if the "season" ends soon. When did/does it start then? I just fancy, after I've got my desired mara time, trying a100m, 200m, 400m.

I was always better at sprinting at school and I think I could do a 13s 100m now. Don't know if that's any good for a 40 year old bloke, who trains mostly long n slow (and hills!) :-)G

HappyG - the track season would normally start when the XC season begins not really sure but I would have a guess at:
XC seasion Oct - March
Track Season April - September

with thre first and last months of each season having few events.

13.0 secs would but you very close to the overall standard that the UK:A are looking for. For all the ranks and specific ranks for your area log on to thepowerof10.info . To be able to search the V40 ranks you will need to register with the site. 13.0 would rank you 27th fastest V40 in the UK this year.

1mile WU then 2x2.5miles in 15mins (splits 15.13 and 14.54) with 5mins recovery between each. Then 1 mile cool down. Felt pretty good after sundays 22miler.

Ah. Maybe it was 13.9999s rather than 13.0s then Alan. I don't think (in my wildest dreams) I would be 27th anything in the UK! So I should look for events next year perhaps. As I say, will talk to our club track bloke. He'll know too. Nice speed work espesh after a long run. :-)G

Thanks :) That time would still make it into the rankings list btw. Making it onto the rankings list is a good achievement.

A very tiring 12 for me instead of the 15 scheduled. Getting a bit fatigued by the 60+ PW miles and last weeks hilly runs.

Hmmm! Only 13 secs for 100m! May have a crack at that. LOL!

8 x 800m intervals cracked tonight. Splits were 3:01 3:06 2:50 2:56 2:56 2:56 2:58 2:53. Pretty pleased with that and hope I can carry that through to tomorrow night when I race only my second 5km.

Training for Abingdon Marathon going well and have got my mileage up to 55-60 pw. The LSRs start this coming weekend, bring them on!

Don't get too tired before Abo Biastai, especially as you are going to break 3h15m on the day :-)

LOL! I have 5 weeks between Fleetwood and Abo to rest. :-) Fleetwood will show me what I can expect at Abo. I do feel like I have slowed a lote as I am training a great deal slower for HR, but my strides have increased in speed when I doo the 10x100m. Don't know if I am confident or not! My endurance must have increased with all this effort. :-)

5.37 for me last night on my way to football training, felt very easy on a very hilly route with only 3 downhills and one flat section.

Nice running RM and evan splits....well the 2.50 on the third catches the eye.

I was due to run 8x800m tonight at 3.00pace but looking to build more on the endurance at this state then work more on speed laster on, so will prob get out for 8/9 tonight. Run to the lakes on lap and run home (if I feel good I might do a 2nd lap)

Big mile weeks keep on going :-) Plenty of nice splits as well

Rest day today, so got home from work and went to cut the grass and got stung by a fecking wasp and also found a nest of the wee shits (foam at the ready for later tonight). Leg is sore (wuss) so tomorrows intervals session will be interesting if it happens
