BS
RFJ, take it as a lesson learnt.
Maybe Luna wasn't putting enough effort in as they were all "1:18" or maybe he has it right down to a 'T', great running
HG, how many lsr's are you planning, there was talk on here a while back about the number of lsr's we done.
Great to have you back on here Paul, thought you were out doing too many miles to post. I am sure your training will reap you rewards this year.

The schedule I am doing has only got 3 LSRs of 20 miles in it. There are 17, 18 and 19 somewehre too. I have seen people saying that the more long stuff you can do, the better. Of those, 2 20s are at 1/2 and 2/3 marathon pace. Ditto for the 18 and 19. It's still double what I did for Edinburgh last year. Just looked back adn I only did 16, 17, and 20 as my longest runs last year. Mind, I was injured and coming off walk/run 14 weeks before it. And it was my first (and only) marathon ever!
Thanks luna - I hadn't heard about FIRST before, and it does look more suitable for training for shorter stuff. Your speed sessions are certainly going well! :-)G

Doubled up yesterday running 7.5M at lunch time (7mm) and then 10.25M in the evening with my club (7:50mm). Felt good and strong and am finding that doubling up on 2 days per week is making my legs stronger and helping me bring my avg HR down.
Great running Luna, some cracking sessions there; and as BS said, good to have you back on the thread PtB and read your wise words.
Rest day for me today before 18-20M on Saturday. Have good day everyone

Okay, BS, I'll fess up, one was 1:19 and another1:20 but I had my OH shout at me on the line to make sure I crossed the line in time!! Welcome back PtB - you've immediately reminded me to reach for my heart rate monitor somehow! No idea what effect my anti-Hadd training has had. Yeah, 4 or 5 x 20 milers for me in the past HG, including one at 22-23 miles. Bit sorry I'm not doing an autumn marathon as I'm off to the Alps in Sept and hoping for some mountain runs - great altitude training.

I had probably my best mile reps session ever last night on the track - 6:12, 6:02, 6:12, 6:16, 6:22. I have broken the 6minute barrier once there some time ago, but the rest of the reps were way slower, so I'm happy with my consistency. And I normally only do 4 reps, not 5, hence the slower last one! 15miles tomorrow morning round Draycote Water for me.

Oh its warm for the weekends LSRs guys. I'm up for a 21-22 tomorrow too!
Spent the last few days shifting building blocks so some good X training, (by some I mean 8+ ton of them). Got a lot of building to do.
Tomorrows run should take me up to 64ish for the week! I am so tired....
LOL I thought SW was a wrinkly like the rest of us, but her profile shows her as a whipper snapper. I am miles away too, so sorry I can't stalk this week either.

Peacey
Hi All. Question for you guys and gals. Im down to run Abingdon 4 weeks after Berlin, Berlin is gonna be my PB attempt and i'll be leaving nothing out on the course, Abingdon was planned as a pacing job for my stepdad who wanted to run sub 3.45 but it now looks like he wont make it due to injury. So not sure how to run now, is 4 weeks long enough to recover and race Abingdon? or should i have a leisurly run and just enjoy it?
Would value your thoughts. Cheers.
