Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hmmm the training may be broadly similar but a strong marathon needs a big element of long runs which a half does not.

I just thought I should target a half and there was a handy local one in May. But I left it too late. In theory I could still train for a marathon in the time I have. Not sure I want to though.

Loch Leven half is end of May Bazo, still fits in. Maybe 30s - 1 min slower than a totally flat half? :-) G

Ah sorry, I mean GFA for the Edinburgh half. If I run a 1:35 half somewhere soon I can get into the Edinburgh half even though general entries closed

@Bazoaxe damn I was also considering the EMF half, didn’t expect it to close. Might have a look at Alloa as a GFA attempt…

Aha, didn't (England/London centric!) know other events had gfa!

I think there are a few halfs that do it (not loads though)

Looks like the same event organisers (i.e. websites look identical!). Good to see that being done. It seems to say that the places are only available if the race numbers are still below their max threshold; how does that work then with the race apparently already being sold out?
