Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Told you they were heavy :-)

Yes the speed conversion is good for the mental arithmetic. And the slope may be good training for Eyri but it won't do the downhills :-)

9.6 kph = 10 mins per mile
10.8kph = 9 min mile
12 kph = 8 min mile
13.2 = 7 min mile

Or thereabouts from memory Not run on a tready for some time as mine broke down and I haven't had the spare cash to replace it. There's also no tready servicing companies near me.

I got quite good at knowing kph when doing Furman back in the day. It was a winter cycle of training for a spring mara, and it was a bad winter (2010/11?) so did a lot of the strict pace runs on the treadmill in gym. Have fun larks. :-) G

I'm planning on putting a sticker on the machine, tbh. Can't expect wife and kids to be as nerdy as I will be in the translation of speeds as they are less obsessive than I am in any event!

I did exactly that in 2008 when I trained for my first Marathon!

Oops, though Sharkie does great training and deserves a whoop, it's mostly 60 metres, rather than 42,200 metres! Wrong thread. Soz! :-) G

So, experienced London Marathoners. I did what they told me and entered the ballot because my 3:09 is less than 10 minutes under the 3:15 GFA cut off. But I still expect to get in as GFA.

But I just got a ballot place which needs paying by 1st August.

Do I pay for the ballot and then ask them to convert to a GFA place? Or do I just accept the ballot place and run with the "masses" without bagging my GFA special bib?

Seen so many people saying 15th rejection, 17th rejection, how are you getting a ballot place AND a GFA larks?! Jammy dodger! :-) G
