Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just get a Garmin HRM, it can measure distance.

Footpods are only good in terms of accuracy for constant pace in my experience.

I have one of those pods. I have the Bluetooth one but it also has ANT+ enabled. Used it for basketball where it's better than nothing (don't wear watch while playing).

I thought the fundamental was that footpods were better than chest straps for distance? My watch can do distance on a treadmill via cadence I presume, is a chest HRM any more accurate give its distance from the foot?

I think SPR means Garmin GPS watch? I think we're talking treadmills here SPR, so no GPS?

I remember when footpods came out when GPS watches were expensive, and they were touted as an alternate way of counting distance (stride times number of steps) but complete bobbins, if I remember correctly! :-) G

Footpods can calibrate well to a constant pace. Maybe for those that have a certain running style they might work at various paces but I wouldn't be hopefully of magic.

larkim Mine were Ant+ but the others are bluetooth smart so should work as well I think? This looks like the one you linked dcrainmaker.com

With regards to accuracy at different paces, I have found them not bad at all at a range of paces. Instantaneous pace when running outside it much improved too and I used a Garmin 7 Pro with a HRM Pro. Instant pace is much worse without the foodpod.

Actually just noticed the one you linked says Ant+ on the bottom left of the box in the last photo so that would be fine.
