ha ha - 10k after intervals this morning, are you trying to break me !
Sadly I cant, I did my intervals this morning as there is a bit of a family gathering tonight as my cousin and family are up from Brighton and so no scope for an evening run

Oh, sorry, yes, we've just been discussing 5K vs. 3K pace for intervals. Forgot that. I'd asked yesterday but wasn't sure if you'd seen it. No, a double day of intervals + 10K race isn't in P&D. Maybe in Jack Daniels?!
If I get my Boston 2019 qualifier time in this marathon then I'm thinking about just jogging VLM for fun next near and doing a season of track 1500, 3K, 5K, 10K. This is partly cos I totally failed to get any better at my half marathon, which was my stated aim for the last 18 months! If at first you don't succeed... change your goals?! G

I barely have a 5k pace, let alone a 3k pace; it's one area I think I should work on this time.
Happy, no idea why it didn't work for me on marathon day; training had suggested that I could certainly run 7:30s and I'd done a 1:34 HM untapered in the build-up.... then struggled to hit 7:2x on race day, even for 16 miles. I was unwell a few days afterwards, so maybe I was coming down with the bug on race day. OTOH, I often get a bug after a big race...
Onwards and upwards and mostly back to reading and digesting now; I have 34 weeks to go; that's 17 to get fit enough to train and a 17 week plan for a marathon!

Baz - I ran 5*1k at just under 5:30 miling just a couple of weeks ago in what I would say was a good session on grass. This morning the Garmin hated Tenby's castle walls, my legs hated the breeze and the undulations, my body hated the fact it was 7 am. Given I ran what was perhaps my best ever session just last Friday I am not too worried.
I have a super-flat HM a week on Sunday. If it's not too hot I am going to give it a jiggle. I don't think I can afford to taper but will get the shoes and the beans out.

And sorry - that was answering the question Baz left on my log this morning rather than rub salt in to anybody else's session 😳!

Going for it at Maidenhead? Nice! I too can't taper but would like to run it fast, although it could all end in tears.

I'm running a flat half in Bridgwater on the same Sunday. It will be fast and flat. I might not be! Best thing about the place is leaving it!

I hit the `sold out of that useful winter run shoe` scenario last year. So heads up on the winter shoes...
Mudclaw- I think I`m not going there. You`ll do too much damage to the quasi-turf-lawn-verges I`m gonna make my winter saviours. Instead, I think the Roclite 305 may be the dream I`ve imagined. A clear footprint, without carbonizing that, and not skidding on ice or wood quite so easily. Is there so much ice and wood around tho...
Talon- Your grip is ideal for soft trails, but can it cope with mudlakes??
The prescient rages.
Yeah, no more Bridgwater, go through that.

You can't just say "Talon" gluco, once there was only 1 Talon, but now there's a plethora of them !!!
Is that the X-Talon ( 200 or 212 or 225 ), or TrailTalon ( 250 or 275 ), or ArcticTalon or RoadTalon ??
