Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Did 21km or 13 miles on the treadmill after a day on a work course, went to the gym after the course finished up about 7:45 adn watched the England rugby match while running so a good result all round, that will do for my long run as I am on a taper. Good running to one and all.

Got to do final 20+miler starting out before 6 this morning. Over 1300ft of climbing in 1st 4miles (trying to replicate Snowdon marathon start - though was harder/steeper than the Llanberis Pass climb) and quite a few climbs in the 21miles. A confidence boost for the marathon - HR lower than "planning" for the race, but still ave pace just under 7m/m. Fetch prediction said 3h3m - I'd more than settle for that on the day!

Nice one John. A confidence boosting run like that is worth a lot.

I'm well into my taper now. Did 4 miles tonight, and had to slow down a few times as I was dipping under 7m/m and didn't really want to go that fast for this run. 8 miles tomorrow at LSR pace, and then I'm into race week. :)

JB excellent running on a tough course, Daviec well done on sticking to the taper plan, good discipline will pay on the day. Didn't run since Friday night as theres a few bugs around and the body isn't feeling the best so decided to ease off but may do a gentle run tonight.

I blew the taper plan yesterday when I entered a local 3 mile race. I'm happy though as I came third and finished in 18.42 without having to put in too much effort. Did an 8 mile slow run later in the afternoon and just monitored my HR to control my pace. Kept it below 150 (<60%) and my average pace was 8.09/mile.

Only a couple more days training left before my race now.

Oh, my post got cut short!?

Kept it below 150 (60% WHR) and my average pace was 8.09/mile.

Only a couple more days training before my race, and I feel fit and confident. :)

Big congrats to El Bee who I see posted 3:11:12 at Berlin for a new PB and of course a sub 3:15 (and won me some points on the silly betting thingy)

Looking forward to hearing how KinkyS and Balham Bouncer got on.

Yep - great time for El Bee, with very impressive splits (consistent is not the word!). BB was, I seem to recall, 6mins over the 3hrs mark - another great run/PB, though, from what I can gather, he was disappointed not to break 3hrs - that, I am sure, will come in the next one! I'm not entirely sure how KS got on - I saw one mention that she did 3h4Xm
