Thanks everyone, nice to hear the reasoning behind the habits. Sounds like I can afford to flesh out my shoe wardrobe. 10 pairs on rotation is impressive though, almost sure it'd have my wife shitting bricks! Many of them would end up in the bin when I wasn't looking.. AJLB -- care to share where you get a constant supply of freebies? |

depeche_mould, I'd be interested in your impressions of the Hoka Rocket X. They're a potential purchase for me, as a training adjunct to the Saucony Endorphin Pros I recently got for racing.

depeche - sadly not constant given the dearth of races last year, but normally prizes of shoes or vouchers for running shops are pretty steady, plus nike send me a pair or so a year (nice pair of Tempo Next%s last year), via the NRC app.

Orderd a cheeky pair of carbon plated shoes, something I said I would never do. Inquisitivness got the better of me so I signed up to Atreyu's The Artist shoe. Carbon plated shoe for around $100 which equates to about £85. Delivery is next month apparently so I will give them a go and see if they really do make a difference. atreyurunning.com 2nd presale is Live now if anyone interested. The reviews are good, |

Doesnt sit well with me but intrigue got the better of me. Remember running 2.43 at London in a pair of bulky Kayanos once ! |

J2R I've tested them out on a 20k run this morning. They aren't as rigid as compared to the pair of zoom flys I have, and I'd say you get less propulsion as a consequence. On the plus, it gives a much more natural feel. They are comfortable and soft (but not overly bouncy or squishy) and light. I'll be doing plenty of marathon training and probably racing in these hope they last 🙂
