NI funds NHS as well as Pension. I think Gov.uk tells you home much MI paid each year and I assume somewhere you can find out what % of NI goes to pensions |

NI is a generl taxation pot, nothing in it is ring fenced for anything anymore, if it ever was! The link to pension is because individual pension amounts are calculated using the number of years NI has been paid, or credited. |

Yes, NI (employer + employee) is about 18% of total government revenue. Spending on pensions and NHS is a far bigger percentage of the total. There are some things where your entitlement is based on NI contributions - the state pension being one, but access to the NHS is not.

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr) I didn't do London marathon. I went to Ireland for a long weekend and ran Connemara marathon, 4 star hotel in Galway 🙂 It's tough living on a state pension 😉 |
