One of the new electric VW things that come out later in the year? It's why I do the lottery every week. Don't want several million poonds, but £80k or whatever for one of them would be nice.

We’ve downgraded to Thunderball for the lottery. We only need half a mill after all and it’s cheaper. (Roughly the same odds for thunderball jackpot as for five and the bonus in the main one)

well if you are used to paying that amount each month why not! Or use the money to pay for fuel! We currently save £3-400 a month but have just increased our pension contributions via work AND we are on a fixed rate for fuel until October so that will massively increase which will impact savings and money used for "fun" things like races |

We've decided to split our estate, such as it is, 40/30/30, with 40% going to our profoundly disabled son. Given that he will essentially be in the hands of the state from this point on (he's 19) we have started to wonder whether it would be better to let the other two have more, because Sam will have few financial needs and wants and he would never be able to spend his cash in any way that has meaning to him as he lacks mental capacity. Any thoughts and views on this tricky subject appreciated.

TROSaracen I really wanted to buy a van when I retired, but Mr SD was not in favour (we had a caravan for 20+ years while the kids were growing up). My sister has a VW van and I've been away in it a few times with her and, to be fair, it's kind of put me off wanting one! There are benefits, but also quite a lot of disadvantages ... so, for me, going self-catering in a cottage is the way forward. I'd recommend renting a camper van first for a week or two before committing, but realise that it's each to their own
