Sigh
The place I used to work is on my regular 5k route from home, but that's hardly surprising since it's a small town. I used to run past it when I worked there - and not think about work - so it doesn't feel any different in retirement.

I've been able to go back as a visiting relative to the place where I had some of my worst workplace experiences as a junior house officer and it didn't bother me at all. The place where I had my absolute worst workplace experience, an obstetric unit in Birmingham, has been knocked down and replaced with a housing development.

Bob!
I've not been past The Goldstone Ground since it was sold. I don't have a problem with going past previous workplaces. |

My old workplace, a wonderful stately pile on the top of a hill with equally wonderful grounds landscaped by Capability Brown, has been sold off to developers. Apparently they're turning the place into a retirement complex of which part is independent living and part is care home. I did not win friends among colleagues by wondering aloud if it was too much hassle obtaining planning permission for change of use. |

Sigh
I spent the first 7 years of working life based in portacabins on building sites, so I've never viewed any workplace in terms of its permanence or otherwise.
